Early in his career, Kobe Bryant, seeing an opportunity, worked very hard to build his brand in Asia. That strategy has paid off in spades for the retiring NBA star, who is treated like a superhuman when he visits China and other Asian countries. So with news of his retirement comes both sadness and honor out of China.

Recently, an artist in the northern province of Jilin created a sweeping tribute to the NBA star using a snow-covered outdoor basketball court:

A brief video showing the technique used suggests that you’d want to find a non-windy day to work in the medium of snow, because it doesn’t appear to be the most stable or durable substance, but that’s why this tribute is so cool and fitting.
