At professional hockey games, you get two long-ish intermissions (this is probably not news to most of you), so you need to find some spectacle to fill the time, lest the fans just start drinking like the world is going to end.

One of the more popular ways to do that is to rustle up some little kids, toss them on the ice, and call it a “Mites on Ice” hockey game. It’s adorable, painless, and somewhat fun.  But at a Ontario Reign (AHL) game, things took a turn for the awesome when a fight broke out and the little Mites started throwing down.

Was it staged? Probably. I don’t think kids that little have the instinct to throw their gloves off and jump into the brawl, but I could be wrong. Either way, it’s awesome, and way better than watching a 0-0 tie where half the kids are laying on the ice motionless.
