Ronda Rousey Hosting SNL on January 23 (Sorry Holly Holm)
A lot of professional athletes have hosted Saturday Night Live over the years. The list includes superstars like Michael Jordan, Derek Jeter, Peyton Manning, Wayne Gretzky, Tom Brady, LeBron James, and Michael Phelps. However, the only two fighters to host were George Foreman and Marvin Hagler, and the only two female athletes to host were Nancy Kerrigan and Chris Evert. And an MMA fighter has never hosted.
That’s going to change in a few week, though. On Tuesday, dethroned UFC champ Ronda Rousey announced via Instagram that she’ll be hosting SNL on January 23.
Rousey has been keeping a pretty low profile since Holly Holm kicked her in the head and snatched her title back on November 15. In fact, she didn’t even leave the house for like two weeks, and when she finally did go out she tried to go all incognito in a coonskin cap. So January 23 will probably be her first public appearance as an MMA loser.
As for Holly Holm, maybe if she beats Rousey in the rematch at UFC 200 SNL will let her host.
