Jermaine Kearse: Seahawks Will Have To Pay Me, Not Giving A Hometown Discount
Seattle Seahawks WR Jermaine Kearse wants it to be known that he is not willing to give a hometown discount for him to return. Basically, he says pay me or I’ll walk in free agency.
The 4th year wide receiver had a career year in all categories, catching 49 passes for 685 yards and five touchdowns. He had this to say to ESPN’s Adam Schefter:
“I love my hometown, but I’ve put in too much hard work to give a discount,” Kearse said via text message. “My number one priority is to take care of my family’s future, so I will consider all opportunities.”
Kearse was born in Lakewood, Washington, played college ball at University of Washington and now plays ball with the Seattle Seahawks.
“It’s a little bit of everything. I just got married,” said Kearse, according to Adam Lewis of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. “Probably going to be looking at kids in a couple years. Got to set my family up for success in the future. Everything has to play out on it’s own. We haven’t hit free agency yet.”
