The College World Series Will (Mercifully) Sell Booze at the Games

The Division I board of directors convened last week and decided, for the sanity of everyone involved, to enact a waiver that will allow for alcohol sales at both the College World Series and women’s softball championships.

The NCAA has cracked down on alcohol sales and consumption at live sporting events recently, so a waiver is needed any time an event seeks an exemption from the current dry practices. However, the NCAA has been inconsistent in applying those practices, and have allowed those in more expensive “club” seats to drink freely sometimes.

The College World Series will take place in Omaha, and the women’s softball championship will take place in Oklahoma City.
