Panthers Are Early Four-Point Favorites for Super Bowl 50
As the playoff race was reduced to just two teams yesterday, the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers, it appeared that the Panthers have the betting community on their side in the wake of a decisive 49-15 win over the Arizona Cardinals. Early betting saw the Panthers favored by as much as 5.5, but into last night, the line settled down somewhere closer to 4.
It’s one of the last in a series of big jumps following the Panthers opening the season with 40-1 odds of winning the Super Bowl.
The spread means big things for Nevada sports books, as well as less legit gambling operations. Just last year, Vegas and surrounding areas saw $120 million wagered on the Super Bowl.
It’s also a powerful indicator among the teams playing, as the favored team has won 32 of 49 Super Bowls.
