John Scott movie nhl all star mvp

John Scott‘s story already sounds like something out of a movie. Notorious NHL goon gets voted to All-Star Game by fans as a joke. Sneaky NHL orchestrates a trade in an attempt to make him ineligible. But fan outcry forces them to let him play. Then he scores two goals and gets named MVP? Hell, if you tried to sell me on a story like this before it actually happened, I would have rolled my eyes and told you to take a hike. It is literally unbelievable.

However, according to John Scott’s agent, Ben Hankinson, somebody may actually be trying to turn Scott’s improbable journey to NHL All-Star MVP into a movie.

“The John Scott ride has been nothing short of a rollercoaster to an incredible ending,” Hankinson told TSN. “We do have a lot of different options for him to pursue, but he’s not looking to do everything there is. He’s going to have some different routes that he can take as far as books and even a potential movie. He can take it as far as he wants to.”

Now, it’s not at all clear what Hankinson meant by “potential movie.” He could have meant that some Hollywood bigshot actually called him up and said he’d love to make a movie about Scott’s story. Or it could mean that some guy at Hankinson’s barbershop was like, “oh they should make a movie about Scott, eh?” (Yes, this hypothetical encounter occurred in Canada.) But the lack of specificity hasn’t stopped people from making hypothetical trailers for the hypothetical John Scott movie.

Take a look:

Seriously, who wouldn’t at least be curious about this movie?
