Johnny Manziel Dropped by Agent After Latest Legal Issues

Johnny Manziel agent leaves him

The line of people who are getting tired of putting up with Johnny Manziel‘s antics continues to grow.

First, it was the Cleveland Browns who grew sick and tired of Johnny Football’s ways before deciding that they would cut the troubled quarterback in March, once salary cap restrictions allow them to do so.  Then it was his ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley who kicked him to the curb once she’d had enough.  And now, it’s Johnny’s agent who’s decided to ditch the former Heisman Trophy winner.

In a statement he released to the media, Manziel’s now-former agent Erik Burkhardt said, “It is with deep regret that, after several emotional and very personal discussions with his family, his doctors and my client himself, I have made the decision to terminate my professional relationship with Johnny Manziel.”

“Though I will remain a friend and Johnny supporter, and he knows I have worked tirelessly to arrange a number of professional options for him to continue to pursue, it has become painfully obvious that his future rests solely in his own hands,” Burkhardt added. “His family and I have gone to great lengths to outline the steps we feel he must take to get his life in order. Accountability is the foundation of any relationship, and without it, the function of my work is counterproductive.”

Erik concluded his statement by saying, “I truly wish the best for Johnny and sincerely hope he can, and will, find the kind of peace and happiness he deserves.”

It’s been a rough week for Manziel. It began with a report that the Browns planned to cut him. Then the news broke that he may have struck his ex-girlfriend and threatened to kill both her and himself during an altercation between the two of them over the weekend. And now, this.

It seems like Manziel’s agent finally grew tired of having to deal with Johnny’s numerous issues. We certainly don’t blame him.
