Ronda Rousey Resumes Training, But Won’t Fight Until November (Pics)
UFC superstar Ronda Rousey is training again. Finally. TMZ photographers snapped a few shots of Rousey at the Glendale Fighting Club earlier this week. She was hitting a bag and grappling with trainer Edmond Tarverdyan.
The timetable for Rousey’s return to action has been up in the air since she got her clock cleaned by Holly Holm at UFC 193 on November 14. Rousey was handed a six-month medical suspension after the fight because of the blows she took to the head, meaning the earliest she can return is May. In December, UFC president Dana White said they were hoping for a Rousey-Holm rematch at UFC 200 in July. But Holm’s camp expressed doubts that Rousey would be ready by then, and, sure enough, White subsequently revised his timetable. He now says he thinks Rousey will return in November, a year after her defeat to Holm.
According to TMZ, though, Rousey is feeling pretty motivated. She had previously told them that she will definitely make her return to the octagon in 2016, and judging by the new photos, she meant it.
Hopefully Holm will still be the champ by the time Rousey is ready to rumble.
