Saturday’s NBA Dunk Contest was sick. You don’t need a bunch of stats and measurements to come to such a conclusion. Just watching Zach LaVine go through his legs from the free-throw line, or seeing Aaron Gordon hurdle the Magic’s mascot would make that quite obvious.
But for those who prefer to over-analyze these sorts of things, there’s the people at SportsScience, who have come to the scientific conclusion that LaVine actually leaped the length of a four-door sedan during his final dunk, while Gordon would have actually won the high jump bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics for his dunk over Stuff the Magic Dragon.
