Dwight Howard Told Gus Johnson He Was Almost Traded to the Bucks (Video)
James Harden‘s dream of getting rid of Dwight Howard didn’t come true at this year’s NBA Trade Deadline, but according to D12 himself, it almost did.
During Monday night’s game between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Houston Rockets, Fox Sports broadcaster Gus Johnson said, on air, that prior to the game Howard told him he would have come to Milwaukee, had they not asked him to sign an extension.
Here’s Johnson’s exact words:
“I had a chance to talk to Dwight Howard before the game, and I said, ‘You know what, man? I feel you’re under appreciated.’ He said, ‘Yeah, probably. But listen, I wanted to come to Milwaukee at the trade deadline. I would have come, but they wanted me to sign an extension.’
“And I said, ‘Well, they couldn’t sign you to half a season.’ He said, ‘You never know. I like Milwaukee.'”
Here’s the footage from the broadcast:
Sorry, Harden. So close.
