Carmelo Anthony Tells Heckler to Ask Knicks Owner for a Refund
The Knicks have been a terrible, dysfunctional franchise for a long time now, and fans have not been shy about blaming owner James Dolan. Now, though, it seems even Dolan’s star player is ready to throw him under the bus.
On Tuesday the Knicks suffered yet another lopsided home loss at the hands of the Trail Blazers, so toward the end of the game a fan sitting a few rows back of the New York bench decided to make his displeasure known and heckle Carmelo Anthony. However, Carmelo wasn’t in the mood for that sh*t, so he stood up and told the fan where he should direct his complaint:
“He kept calling my name, calling my name, saying, ‘You guys suck, you guys suck.’ At that point, I was trying to gather myself, and I turned around. All I did was point at Dolan and told him, ‘Look, the owner’s right there. Ask for your money back.’ He’s calling me and telling me he’s never coming to another game and we suck. Just don’t want to hear that. I pointed to the owner and told him, ‘You deal with that with him. Maybe you can get your money back.'”
Unfortunately we don’t have video of Anthony’s interaction with the fan. We just have his post-game chat with the media:
So did the fan ask James Dolan for a refund? Not likely. After he got done talking to Anthony security came and escorted him out.
Maybe next time?
