Vontaze Burfict Blames Bengals Teammate For Playoff Loss To Steelers (Video)
The last time the Cincinnati Bengals won a playoff game was January 1991. Cincinnati extended that miserable streak with a loss to the Steelers in the AFC wild-card round back in January. Most blame that loss on Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict who knocked Steelers WR Antonio Brown out of the game with a late 4th quarter cheap shot that kept a Steelers drive alive.
Seems like everybody agrees that was the turning point of the game that caused the Bengals to lose except the guy that delivered the hit, Vontaze Burfict. He blames another teammate that he refused to name in an interview with ESPN’s Josina Anderson.
Burfict was asked directly if he blamed himself for the loss against the Steelers.
“No, I don’t,” Burfict said.
“There was only a minute left in the game,” Burfict said. “Coach always says, ‘Trust a teammate to pack your parachute,’ and I trusted my teammate. I don’t want to say any names, but I trusted my teammates to execute and finish the game.”
