Millions of Dollars Worth of Ty Cobb Baseball Cards Were Found in a Run-Down House
It’s every baseball fan’s dream. It’s actually the dream of anyone who wanted to stumble into a million bucks, but baseball fans will have a special affinity for this one man’s turn of good fortune.
In his great-grandfather’s run-down house, a man, who wishes to remain anonymous, found a bag containing seven identical Ty Cobb baseball cards that were printed between 1909 and 1911.
Here’s a pic of the type of cards found:
They’re estimated to be worth “at least seven figures,” though the appraised amount hasn’t yet been divulged. The cards rank between a 3.5 and 4.5 out of 10 in terms of condition, but little else is known. They all come from the same run of cards (known as “T206”), which includes the famed Honus Wagner tobacco card, long considered the most prized baseball card ever printed.
While it is believed that the total value of the seven cards is over $1 million, it is not yet known exactly what the new owner plans to do with them.
