Jakeem Grant Ran a 4.10(!!!) 40-Yard Dash During Texas Tech Pro Day (Video)
Jakeem Grant wasn’t invited to the NFL Combine last month, which is unfortunate because, had he been there, there’s a good chance he would have found himself $1-million richer.
Of course, no one was able to take advantage of Adidas’ offer to pay $1-million to anyone who could break Chris Johnson‘s combine record of 4.24 seconds in the 40-yard dash. But, as Grant showed during Texas Tech’s Pro Day on Friday, had he received an invite to Indianapolis, he would have had a real shot at cashing in on the apparel company’s wager.
First, just watch Jakeem Grant’s blazing 40-yard dash:

That sure as hell looked fast. And it was, clocking in at 4.10 seconds, according to a scout from the New Orleans Saints.
Here are some Tweets that detail the unofficial times from some of the scouts in attendance:
Texas Tech WR Jakeem Grant just clocked a 40 yard dash in the 4.1 range. #Saints scout had him at 4.10. Fastest 40 ever.

I do not rep him, but I’m at Texas Tech Pro Day & 2 teams text me saying they had Jakeem Grant clocked in “4.1s” on 40-yd dash w wind.

If Grant did in fact run a 4.10, it would mark the fastest 40-yard dash in NFL combine history. Faster than Johnson’s 40 back in 2008. Even faster than Bo Jackson‘s reported 4.13 from back in 1986.
Is it fast enough to get Jakeem Grant drafted? That’s a different story, as many teams may be hesitant to use a pick on a wide receiver that is 5’7″ and just 168 pounds. But you can’t teach speed like that, so I’m guessing someone will want to take a chance on this rare talent.
