Von Miller, Antonio Brown and Paige VanZant Impress During ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Debut (Video)

I’m not a big fan of Dancing with the Stars. However, I like the idea of it—specifically the idea of big tough football players wearing silly outfits with rhinestones all over them, skipping and hopping all over the dance floor. Football takes itself too seriously sometimes. When guys go on DWTS, fully aware that they might look absolutely ridiculous, it’s like the yin to Hard Knocks‘s yang.

On Monday, the 22nd season of Dancing with the Stars premiered on ABC. Headlining this year’s crop of contestants from the world of sports is none other than Super Bowl MVP Von Miller. He and his pro dancing partner, Whitney Carson, danced a football themed foxtrot to “My House” by Flo Rida, all decked out in Broncos blue and orange. Check it out:

Miller isn’t the only current NFL star to take the DWTS stage. Or floor. Or whatever. Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown is also out there competing for the coveted Mirror Ball trophy. And, like Miller, he kicked things off with partner Sharna Burgessi in team colors, doing a quickstep to “Bad Man” by Pitbull:

But hey, if those guys are too current for you, let’s turn back the clock with legendary Boston College quarterback Doug Flutie. He kicked things off with Karina Smirnoff dancing to “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond. And obviously he wore Golden Eagles maroon and gold:

Last but not least—but also not a football player—there was female MMA fighter Paige VanZant, who is partnering with Mark Ballas and danced to “Aint Got Far to Go” by Jess Glynne:

Who will be this year’s top ballroom dancing athlete? My money’s on Von Miller or Paige VanZant, because people like guys who wear silly glasses and attractive women.

Who you got?
