Jon “Bones” Jones Calls Cop a “F*cking Pig” in New Mexico (Video)
TMZ Sports has released footage that shows former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon “Bones” Jones getting into a heated exchange with a New Mexico police officer, calling him a “liar” and a “f*cking pig.”
The incident took place around midnight on Thursday, after Jones was pulled over on suspicion of drag racing in his white Corvette. In a statement released to the media, via TMZ Sports, Jones had the following to say regarding the incident:
“I was not drag racing nor was I speeding. I did not get a speeding ticket. I was driving within the speed limit of the 35mph zone.
“I feel that police used a technicality to ticket me for drag racing, for simply revving my engine and acknowledging some of my local fans. I regrettably said words to the police officer out of frustration, for which I apologize for, but I do feel this was excessive.”
Last April, Jones was stripped of his UFC Light Heavyweight belt following a hit-and-run incident in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was also suspended by the UFC and sentenced to 18 months probation by an Albuquerque judge after pleading guilty to leaving the scene of an accident.
Jones is set to make his return to the octagon on April 23rd at UFC 197, where he will take on current light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier.
The UFC is said to be investigating Jones’ latest run-in with New Mexico law enforcement. Here’s a look at the video:
