We know Cubs manager Joe Maddon likes to keep things loose around the clubhouse. A few weeks ago he announced that the team was dropping it’s dress code for road trips, telling players, “If you think you look hot, you wear it.” On Tuesday at the Cubs spring training facility in Arizona, he had first baseman Anthony Rizzo serenading his teammates on the piano.

Not a joke. This is actually a thing that happened. Apparently Rizzo has been taking piano lessons for a couple of months because he’s some sort of Renaissance man. Then yesterday, out of the blue, a keyboard showed up at Sloan Park.

So Rizzo put on an impromptu recital, playing Adele’s “Hello” and Train’s “Drops of Jupiter.”

Needless to say, it attracted quite the crowd.

Obviously “Hello” is now the official theme song of the 2016 Chicago Cubs. Wrigley Field organist Gary Pressy had better start practicing it.
