Shaq on Kobe Retirement Tour: “I’m Super Jealous…This Is Killing Me”
On Monday Shaquille O’Neal learned he had been elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. It hardly came as a surprise, but it has to feel good now that it’s official.
Unfortunately, that probably won’t help Shaq feel any better while watching the final few games of the Kobe Bryant retirement tour.
In the latest edition of The BIG Podcast with Shaq, which comes out next Monday, Shaq shares his thoughts on Kobe’s farewell season, admitting that he wishes he could have had a yearlong sendoff:
“I’m super jealous. I wanted a Shaq tour, man. I did. Like, I never said this but this is killing me. It did. So, you know, I had two years in Boston. I got hurt my first year, but the second year, we were going to plan a whole Shaq tour. I’m super jealous. I wanted a Shaq tour… I wanted to just go to the city, and people see me play my last game. I did. I’m like – at first I tried to suck it up, but I can’t. It’s killing me.”
