Kendrick Lamar Kobe Bryant tribute

Kendrick Lamar gave the world a little poetry in this clip from Fade to Black, a tribute to Kobe Bryant. Lamar, who grew up in L.A. near the Forum, rhythmically sings the praises of the NBA icon and his 20-year career.

Kendrick puts on a pretty good display against clips of Kobe doing Kobe stuff, and for some reason, the Forum is prominently featured despite the fact the last Laker game it held was in 1999. Nonetheless, it’s a pretty cool clip.

Take a look here:

The tribute is laid down over his song “Untitled #7,” which gives the whole thing an ominous, uncomfortable feel…In a good way.
