Irish Track and Field Commentator Loses His Mind Watching Incredible Finish to 4×400 Relay (Video)

irish track and field commentator goes nuts 4x400 relay

The women’s 4×400 finals at the Irish University Athletics Association intervarsity games last weekend produced one of the most exciting finishes you’ll ever see. About halfway through the final lap, “future Olympian” Michelle Finn of the University of Limerick erased a 30-meter gap and built up an impressive lead heading into the final stretch. But then Phil Healy of University College Cork, who was in fifth place coming around the last turn, turned on the jets and blew past everybody for the come-from-behind win, crashing face-first into the track after crossing the finish line.

You could watch this race with the volume off and it would be exciting. But you shouldn’t do that because the Irish track and field commentator makes it about 1000x better. The guy absolutely loses his mind.

I’ve cued up the video below to the start of the final lap. Take a look:

“UCC FROM THE DEPTHS OF HELL ARE POWERING THROUGH…IT IS PHIL HEALY OF UCC, POWERING DOWN THE OUTSIDE, WILL SHE GET MICHELLE FINN, SHE’S OUT ON HER FEET!”

That is an all-time classic call. The one guy’s voice goes up about six octaves over the final 100 meters.

Can we get these guys to cover some baseball games for Fox this summer?
