Tigers Send Tyler Collins To The Minors After Flipping Off Fans In Detroit
During the 6th inning of Monday’s contest between the Oakland A’s & Detroit Tigers, CF Tyler Collins lost a ball in the lights as it dropped right in front of him. He was showered with boos from the home team’s fans, even though they were up 6-0 at the time.
Collins gave everybody a one-finger salute as he yelled, “F-ck Everybody Here!”

On Wednesday, the Tigers sent Collins down to the minors; though, they claim the outburst had nothing to do with it.
Tigers skipper Brad Ausmus had this to say:
“No, this has nothing to do with the other night. This was, he was scuffling, we had K-Rod coming back,” Ausmus said, according to Matthew B. Mowery of The Oakland Press. “We felt like we could use another pitcher for the foreseeable future, the next few days at least, at least through the weekend.”
Collins apologized for his actions after the game:
“To be at home and hear the boos, hit a trigger in me and I lashed out completely inappropriately,” Collins said. “I’m absolutely embarrassed it happened and I’m very sorry.”
The outfielder was optioned to the Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens to make room for a reliever.
