NFL Prospect Eric Striker Delivers Emotional Speech to Friends and Family After Going Undrafted (Video)
This year 253 players were selected in the NFL draft, which means 253 guys got to share a very special moment with their friends and family.
Unfortunately, for every player who got drafted there was at least one hopeful prospect who never got the call. And Oklahoma Sooners inside linebacker Eric Striker was one of those prospects.
Striker was a second-team All-American at OU who finished his three-year starting career with 191 tackles, 46.5 tackles for a loss, and 23 sacks. However, because Striker is only 6’0 and 221 pounds, scouts had him projected as a 6th or 7th round pick. And ultimately no team decided to take a flyer on him.
Obviously, Striker was very disappointed to go undrafted. Especially since all his friends and family—and ESPN cameras—were at his house. One could forgive him for feeling a little dejected. However, instead of pouting, Striker called everyone together and gave an inspirational speech in which he thanked them for their love and support and promised that his journey wasn’t over.

So what’s next for Striker?
Well, on Saturday he signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent. You have to think this amazing speech was a factor in Buffalo giving him a chance.
