Thunder Beat Spurs Thanks to Crucial Non-Call By Refs (Videos)
Allow me to set the scene: Game 2 between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs. OKC’s Dion Waiters is set to inbound the ball with 13.5 seconds remaining, no timeouts, and his team leading 98-97.
From there, madness ensued:
After all of that mayhem, the Thunder were able to emerge with a 98-97 victory. But they probably shouldn’t have.
While inbounding the ball, Waiters gave Manu Ginobili a blatant elbow, right in front of the official.
The refs should have at least called a personal foul on Dion Waiters, if not a technical. But they kept their whistles in their pockets, the Spurs weren’t awarded any free-throws, and they failed to connect on a game-winning bucket after stealing the inbound pass.
Thunder win. Series tied, 1-1.
