Hard to believe that it’s been 12 years since the NBA took one on the chin with the now infamous ‘Malice at the Palace’ brawl between the Pacers, Pistons, and fans. Ron Artest famously ran into the stands and ultimately attacked the wrong fan for throwing a cup at him, but it wasn’t until he and the guy who actually threw it became friends that he found out why it was thrown.

Simple: It was a bet on who could hit him while he was lying on the scorer’s table. Ron Artest was a guest on Fox Sports radio show ‘The Herd’ with Colin Cowherd, and he spoke about how the bet went down and why he attacked the wrong person.
