Ozzie Guillen’s Michael Jordan Story About the Time His Airness Beat Guillen and Another Guy in a Game of 2-on-1 Is Perfect (Video)
Michael Jordan stepped away from basketball to pursue a career in baseball back in 1993. However, even when MJ was playing baseball for the Chicago White Sox organization, he was still very concerned with maintaining his reputation as the greatest basketball player of all time. At least according to former White Sox player and manager Ozzie Guillen.
Though Jordan never did make it to the big leagues, he did take part in White Sox spring training. Thus, for a few weeks back in 1994, Jordan was Ozzie Guillen’s teammate.
Guillen recently sat down with some folks over at ESPN to tell the story about the time he and teammate Joey Cora challenge Michael Jordan to a game of 2-on-1 basketball. Needless to say, it did not end well for Guillen.
Check it out:
“It’s funny because I don’t see his back, I see his crotch. Every time he would go around us, I would just see his lower body. I wouldn’t see his hands. His lower body was over my face seven times.”
Man, Ozzie is so lucky. Not many people can say they’ve had Michael Jordan’s crotch in their face. Not many dudes, anyway.
The lesson here? Don’t challenge Jordan in basketball. Ever.
