What does a collegiate summer league baseball team do when a lost puppy turns up in the parking lot outside its stadium, hungry, dehydrated, and all alone? Obviously that teams adopts that puppy and makes her its unofficial mascot.

That’s what the Savannah Bananas (best name ever?) did when a 7-week old puppy showed up in their parking lot. Team staffers noticed her wandering around without a collar or microchip, so team president Jared Orton and his wife adopted her.

“It was just meant to be that we’d have a team dog as part of our staff,” Orton said in the team’s official statement. “We took Daisy to the vet and aside from being hungry and dehydrated, she was in pretty good health.”

Seriously, look at this adorable baseball puppy:

Now all they have to do is teach the dog not to do its business on the field.

In an slightly unrelated note, does anybody know how I can get my hands on some Savannah Bananas gear? Asking for a friend.
