Golden State Warriors v Cleveland Cavaliers

Here we are once again in the NBA Finals as LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers look to get some revenge for last year when they take on Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors starting Thursday at Oracle.

Curry spoke to reporters Wednesday ahead of Game 1 and he was asked about being the ‘Face of the NBA.’  The reigning league MVP stated he’s only chasing rings, not popularity.

“It’s really annoying for me to be – that’s not what I’m playing for, to be the face of the NBA or to be this or that or to take LeBron’s throne or whatever,” Curry said. “You know, I’m trying to chase rings, and that’s all I’m about. So that’s where the conversation stops for me.”

Whether Curry likes it or not, there is absolutely no denying how popular he has become in the last two years. His jersey sales skyrocketed this year, finishing first among all players, especially after he defeated LeBron in the NBA Finals in 2015.
