NC State Baseball Coach Has Epic Meltdown, Uses Sweet Spin-o-Rama to Evade Umpire (Video)
Few things in baseball are as entertaining as a good old-fashioned manager tirade. And boy did we get a good one on Monday during a NCAA Regionals game between NC State and Coastal Carolina.
In the bottom of the third inning, with two on and one out, home plate umpire Scott Higgins called ball four on a pretty good-looking 3-2 pitch. That brought NC State baseball coach Elliot Avent out of the duggout, and after jawing away for a few seconds, he got tossed.
This initiated a full-blown meltdown. Check it out:

Two things to note here.
First, did you see that sweet spin-o-rama move Avent put on that one umpire so he could get back to screaming in Scott Higgins’ face? Dude should be the wide receivers coach for the Wolfpack football team.
Second, how friggin’ tall is Scott Higgins? Like, seven feet? He makes the NC State coach look like a little boy.
Anyway, in case you were wondering, NC State went on to win Monday’s game 8-1. However, they lost their next game against Coastal Carolina on Tuesday, which eliminated them from the NCAA Tournament. Meanwhile, Avent was suspended two games for “prolonged arguing,” which seems about right.
