Sean Rooks

Sad news from the NBA as it was reported on Tuesday that former player and current Philadelphia 76ers head coach Sean Rooks had passed away at the age of 46.

Rooks suffered a heart attack shortly after eating dinner with his family in Philadelphia.  He had interviewed with the New York Knicks for an assistant coaching position earlier in the day.

Rooks spent 12 seasons as a player with the Dallas Mavericks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Lakers, L.A. Clippers, New Orleans Hornets, and Orlando Magic, averaging 6.2 points and 3.8 rebounds per game over the course of his career. He spent the last two seasons coaching the Sixers.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of Sean Rooks.
