Crying Jordan is still the reigning king of the internet memes. Nobody knows how it started, why it started, and they probably don’t care either.

Now, it looks like we’ve just reached a whole new level for this meme.

According to Chris Yuscavage of Complex:

“Well, according to register.com, social media specialist/Crying Jordan enthusiast Troy Machir—then with Sporting News—registered the CryingJordan.com domain name in December 2015 through GoDaddy.com. We reached out to Machir to ask if he bought the site and, if so, why he did it, and he hasn’t responded to us yet. But it’s worth noting that he sent out this tweet in December 2015 on the same day CryingJordan.com was created:”
