Report: The Heat Have Offered Dwyane Wade a 2-year, $40M Contract

NBA: Toronto Raptors at Miami Heat

After the news broke of Kevin Durant leaving the only franchise he has ever known for the Golden State Warriors, the HEAT were taking no chances with their aging superstar.

According to ESPN’s Dan Le Batard, the Miami Heat have offered all-star guard Dwyane Wade a two-year, $40-million deal with a player option in the second year.

Wade made $20 million last year with his one-year contract and would make that same amount for the next two years if he agrees to sign this one. The Knicks, Bulls, and Bucks have been throwing out numbers in hopes of him leaving South Beach, especially after the Heat’s 1st offer was only $10 Million.

Wade averaged 19 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.6 assists last season in 74 appearances for the 48-34 Heat.
