This is just a normal day for Johnny Manziel.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Louis Murphy had himself quite the day a college teammate’s wedding in Palm Beach this past weekend.
“The Bucs receiver attended the wedding of former college teammate and Ravens wideout Deonte Thompson on Friday night, the Tampa Bay Times reports. The two played together at Florida, and Thompson decided to tie the knot at Flagler Museum in Palm Beach. But Murphy, 29, had a little too much fun. According to a police report obtained by the Times, Murphy told police he went to the courtyard of the museum after spending the night drinking and fell asleep on the steps. When he awoke early Saturday morning, everyone was gone, and the doors to the museum were locked.Murphy then “got nervous and broke the glass on one of the doors to unlock it,” per the Times. Murphy called his friend, who then dialed the police. At 1:12 a.m., police arrived, according to the Times.”
“This was really just a series of small unfortunate circumstances,” Murphy said Wednesday in a statement. “With no one around, my only option was to break a small glass pane of the door in order to access a phone and call for help. I dialed the police and explained that I needed assistance. It’s unfortunate that I needed to break the glass, but the police officers on the scene and museum staff acknowledged that I didn’t have many other options. I’m working with the museum to ensure everything is properly handled.”
