The #RonaldoFaceMoth Was the Real Star of the Euro 2016 Final (Video + Pics)
Portugal defeated France in the finals of Euro 2016 despite the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo, the most famous soccer player in the world, went down with a knee injury in the 17th minute. But what was everyone talking about on social media? Moths. Obviously.
There was a major moth infestation at the Stade de France on Sunday. Apparently they left the lights on overnight, attracting every moth in Île-de-France to one of the biggest sporting events of the summer. And it was obvious right away that it was going to be a pretty big problem:
Nobody could have forseen what would happen next, though. After Ronaldo went down with his knee injury, as he sat on the pitch with tears streaming down his face, a moth landed right in the middle of his forehead:

From that point on, as the match turned into a total snoozefest, the moths became the talk of the soccer world, and #RonaldoFaceMoth was trending on Twitter:

The lesson? Don’t leave the lights on at sports stadiums overnight unless you’re prepared to invest heavily in bug zappers.
