Golden State Warriors v Oklahoma City Thunder - Game Six

In the Western Conference Finals of the 2016 NBA playoffs, the Oklahoma City Thunder had the 73-win Golden State Warriors on the brink of elimination, up 3-1 before the wheels came off and they ultimately lost in 7 games.

Fast forward to July and Kevin Durant has joined the Warriors.  This statement by Golden State Warriors SG/SF Andre Iguodala won’t make OKC fans feel any better.

During a recent radio appearance on The Breakfast Club, Iguodala had this to say about the Oklahoma City Thunder and how they played in the Western Conference Finals.

“Now that we got (Kevin Durant), I can say it: They were the best team last year in the league in the playoffs,” Iguodala said. “They were better than us. They were better than Cleveland (Cavaliers). They were the best team in the playoffs. They should’ve won a championship.”

“We locked them down,” Iguodala added. “But they were better than us. They played us better than anybody. Better than Cleveland, they played us. They had our number. Some of the stuff they were doing, it’s like, oh man. We got to play perfectly.”
