San Antonio Spurs v Oklahoma City Thunder - Game Six

Gregg Popovich and Tim Duncan might not seem like a pair of cut-ups to, well, anyone, but even after just three years together on the Spurs, the two apparently enjoyed a very close relationship that ultimately kept the big man from going to Orlando after he won his first champsionship in San Antonio.

Everyone figured Duncan was on his way out in 2000, but he swung by Popovich’s house to discuss the move, and the two reportedly ended up wrestling on the ground and laughing until they cried.

Does it sound weird? Yeah, it sounds very weird. But also pretty awesome.

Unfortunately, this was before the camera phone age, so we’ll just have to guess what that looked like. It must have been a good match, because Duncan stayed put for the rest of his career.
