Pats Safety Nate Ebner Makes the U.S. Olympic Rugby Team
After taking the off-season to focus on rugby, it seems that Nate Ebner’s Olympic dream is coming true. The lifelong rugby player got permission from the Patriots to take a leave from the team to focus on training for the Rio Olympics, and he’s just received word that he’s made the team.
Ebner’s been a rugby player his whole life, having been the youngest play to ever represent the U.S. on the men’s sevens team, and playing on a college level at Ohio State.
The Olympics will cause him to miss almost all of the Patriots training camp, but Bill Belichick has said that he expects Ebner to be ready to go when he returns from Rio.
