Gregg Popovich Doesn’t Care About ‘Super-Teams’: “Naaah, I Just Count The Championships.”

San Antonio Spurs v Memphis Grizzlies - Game Four

In the wake of former Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant joining an already stacked Golden State Warriors squad that won 73 games this past season without him, there has been one team that has never had the label, “Super Team.” Nor do they care.

They’re the San Antonio Spurs.

Don’t expect the Spurs to flinch a bit about KD going to the Warriors, as they won 67 games themselves and can match up with the best in the East and the West.

The question is, does that super-team label bother Spurs coach Gregg Popovich at all?

“Naaaah,” Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, an assistant coach for Team USA, said with a coy smile. “I just count the championships.”

COUNT THE RINGS!!
