Texas Rangers first baseman Prince Fielder’s latest neck surgery, his 2nd in 27 months, is forcing him to give up the game he loves for good.

Before the neck surgeries, Fielder was the model of consistency when it came to playing baseball. From 2006 to 2013, Prince Fielder played in 1,283 of a possible 1,296 regular-season games (162 games in 4 seasons).

Fielder required a cervical fusion to repair a herniated disk. He ends his career as a .283 hitter with 319 career homers in 12 seasons.
