Rio Officials Close Diving Pool Due to Discoloration & it Smelling Like ‘Farts’
This will probably worry a bunch of athletes who dove in this water over the last few days.
A few days ago, the Olympic diving pool suddenly turned green overnight and had everybody worried. However, it took officials until Friday to finally close the pool because of the discoloration of the water and it reportedly smelling like ‘farts’.
Rio officials originally claimed the water posed no risk whatsoever to any athletes. Many of those athletes complained about the water burning their eyes.
Rio 2016 confirm diving pool closed this morning while they continue to sort out the water. One or two athletes had “itchy eyes”. Erm..

Rio officials initially stated the discoloration was caused by algae. Just one day after the diving pool turned green, the polo pool, which is located at the same venue, also began to change color.
