New York Knicks point guard Derrick Rose, who was acquired through a trade this offseason, had some interesting comments last month when he said the Golden State Warriors and the New York Knicks were the only ‘Super Teams’ in the league.

“With these teams right now, they’re saying us and Golden State are the super teams, and they’re trying not to build that many super teams, and [commissioner] Adam Silver came out with the statement and this and that,” Rose said during a recent interview with

While in South Korea, Rose was not backing down on his comments and made sure everybody knew it by stating once again that the New York Knicks are indeed a Super team.

“I still believe that,” Rose said. “With that ‘superteam’ term, you gotta be very careful, I guess, if you’re in the United States.”

“If you’re playing on any team – it doesn’t have to be in the NBA, it could be on the college level, high-school level – you should believe in yourself and have the confidence that you’re playing on a superteam,” Rose said. “I have a lot of confidence, and I’m not taking that back.”
