49ers Release Statement on QB Kaepernick’s Decision to Sit During National Anthem
It’s all about rights in freedoms in this country until certain individuals act too free and then it’s a problem when it upsets the masses. Case and point, the fake outrage about San Francisco 49ers back-up quarterback Colin Kaepernick and his decision to sit while the National Anthem was being played during the preseason game vs. the Green Bay Packers on Friday.

This fake outrage prompted the 49ers to release a statement on the matter, defending their QB:
“The national anthem is and always will be a special part of the pre-game ceremony,” the team said in a statement issued to PFT. “It is an opportunity to honor our country and reflect on the great liberties we are afforded as its citizens. In respecting such American principles as freedom of religion and freedom of expression, we recognize the right of an individual to choose to participate, or not, in our celebration of the national anthem.”
