Santa Clara Police Send Letter To 49ers Threatening Not To Protect Them Because of Colin Kaepernick
This has gotten so far out of control, it’s not even funny anymore.
Last week, San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick protested quietly while refusing to stand during the playing of the National Anthem. These were his comments that followed the next day when asked about it:
“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people and people of color,” Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after the game against Green Bay. “To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”
That message about the police has apparently upset the Santa Clara Police Union who reportedly sent a letter to the 49ers organization threatening not to work games if the Colin Kaepernick situation isn’t handled.

Instead of fixing the issue, they decide to make it much worse. Hold this L, Santa Clara PD.
