Kaepernick: ‘Last Time I Began As a Backup, I Played In The Super Bowl’ (Video)
If not for the whole not standing during the playing of the National Anthem controversy, the big story out of San Francisco would have been former franchise QB Colin Kaepernick and his drop in the depth chart.
While others believe this is just a grab for attention since he’s lost his starting job to Blaine Gabbert, Kaepernick tends to look at it in a different way and sees the glass half full.
The last time Kaepernick began a season as the back-up QB, he ended up starting and leading the team to a Super Bowl berth—starting for San Francisco in Super Bowl XLVII.
“I have to wait my time, and work,” Kaepernick said Wednesday, according to Cam Inman of the Mercury News. “I’ve been in this position before. Last time I was in this position, I ended up in the Super Bowl. So I continue to work and prepare for when that next opportunity comes.”
