Jaguars Rookie Jalen Ramsey to Aaron Rodgers: ‘Throw My Way If You Want To’
The Jacksonville Jaguars are a team looking to make some noise this year after years of nobody realizing that the city of Jacksonville had a professional football team.
One way to make some noise is to beat QB Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers on Sunday in Week 1. Many expect Rodgers to target rookie defensive back Jalen Ramsey, who was selected No. 5 overall. Ramsey hopes he does just that.
“I’m not scared,” Ramsey said, via ESPN.com. “Throw my way if you want to.”
“It’d mean a lot to me,” Ramsey said. “It’ll be my first NFL interception but that’s not really what I’m focused on right now. I’m just focused on doing what I can do for the team.”
“I’ve been preparing like I would prepare for anyone else,” Ramsey said. “We’ll see on Sunday. Like I said, they’re a really good team. We know that. Everybody knows that, so hopefully it’ll be a good game and we can go out there and do well.”
Head coach Gus Bradley has just as much confidence in Ramsey’s ability as Ramsey has in himself.
“Jalen is a good player for us and has done some good things from what we have seen thus far,” Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said. “He just needs to carry it over into the regular season, a heightened environment.
“He is a good football player. Jalen, I know, will stand up to the competition.”
All eyes will be on Ramsey come this Sunday after his comments.
