Yankees Fan Proposes to Girlfriend at Game, Drops the Ring (Video)
You’re about to see the greatest stadium marriage proposal in the history of stadium marriage proposals.
In the Bronx on Tuesday, a Yankees fan in a #42 Mariano Rivera jersey got down on one knee and asked his girlfriend in a #2 Derek Jeter jersey to marry him. However, when he pulled the box out of his pocket and popped it open, the engagement ring fell out. And it was all caught on the center field jumbotron.
At this point I’m going to go out on a limb and say this is not how the dude’s girlfriend always dreamed things would go. She might not have harbored delusions about white steed, or a flash mob dancing to a Bruno Mars song. But she probably didn’t think her dude would drop the ring in a heap of peanut shells and spilled beer on the ground at Yankee Stadium.
Fortunately, the other fans in the couple’s section had their back, and everyone starting looking for the ring. Like, people were crawling around on their hands and knees, inspecting beer, and sifting through popcorn buckets. It was bizarre.
Eventually, they found the ring in somebody’s jacket, which got the biggest cheer of the night. Then the guy got back down on one knee and sealed the deal.
Take a look:
Like I said. Best stadium proposal ever.
