This is why we can’t have nice things.

Last Sunday, 24-year-old Miami Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez suddenly and tragically lost his life along with two of his friends during a boating accident in Miami Beach.

There have been ceremonies, public funeral processions, as well as vigils held for the young and promising star pitcher since his tragic passing.

One vigil that was held on Wednesday was disrespected in the highest form as someone decided to steal Jose Fernandez’s high school jersey, which had been displayed in his old high school team’s dugout.

Anastasia Dawson of the Tampa Bay Times covered the vigil, as well as the theft and the placing of another Fernandez high school jersey.
