The Boston Red Sox clinched the American League East on Wednesday night, but the best record in the American League is still up for grabs, which would mean home field advantage throughout the postseason. So a lot of Red Sox fans were hoping manager John Farrell would stick with the same lineup that recently won 11 games in a row.

Unfortunately for those fans, Farrell decided to give some of his starters a break on Thursday night. Chris Young got the start in right field over Mookie Betts. Deven Marrero got the start at second over Dustin Pedroia. Aaron Hill got the start at third over Brock Holt. And David Ortiz only made two plate appearances at DH.

Of course, Farrell probably knew fans wouldn’t like his lineup. But that doesn’t mean he was in the mood to take their sh*t. So when a fan sitting near the visiting dugout at Yankee Stadium started heckling, Farrell had some choice words for the guy.

Take a look:

I don’t know about you, but suddenly I’m a big John Farrell fan.
