Concussed Cam Newton Was Cruising Around Charlotte on His Scooter Without a Helmet on Monday (Pic)
Last week against the Falcons, after suffering what seemed like his 43rd helmet-to-helmet hit of the 2016 season on a successful two-point conversion attempt, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was finally diagnosed with a concussion. And that meant he was ruled out for this week’s Monday Night Football showdown with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
So what was Newton doing prior to the game? Cruising around downtown Charlotte on some kind of three-wheeled scooter WITHOUT A HELMET.

Of course, you can’t actually see his face in that photo, but it is a 6’5″ guy in a goofy hat. So yeah, that’s probably Cam.
Panthers coach Ron Rivera said Newton participated in some football-specific drills earlier Monday, and ESPN’s Adam Schefter surmised that Newton’s scooter escapade was a sign the QB was doing well.
However, seeing as how the Panthers lost again on Monday without Newton in the lineup, leaving the Super Bowl runners up with just one win on the season, a lot of Panthers fans would probably prefer Cam err on the side of caution and wear a goddamn helmet when he goes for a joy ride.
