Mark Davis After Stadium Proposal Passes: ‘Vegas Is Our New Home’
Not the type of news Raiders fans want to hear, especially since their team is 4-1 and on top of the AFC West for the first time in a long time.
On Friday, the Nevada Legislature passed a $750 million stadium proposal putting the Oakland Raiders just a few more steps away from relocating to Las Vegas.
Six months ago, Raiders owner Mark Davis promised he would move the team if Nevada approved this proposal. And on Friday, he released a statement stating he plans to deliver on that promise.
“I would like to thank Governor Sandoval, the Southern Nevada Tourism Infrastructure Committee, and the members of the Nevada Legislature on this historic day, ” said Raiders owner Mark Davis. “All parties have worked extremely hard to develop and approve this tremendous stadium project that will serve as a proud new home for the entire Raider Nation.”
“THE TEAM CAN’T LEAVE OAKLAND UNLESS NFL OWNERS APPROVE THE MOVE, AND FOR THAT TO HAPPEN, 24 OF THE LEAGUE’S 32 OWNERS WOULD HAVE TO OK THE RAIDERS’ RELOCATION.”
